May 11, 1948 MARLYCE BERGSVEN BECOMES BRIDE OF TOM VAN BRUNT
The marriage of Miss Marlyce Bergsven, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Bergsven of Bemidji and Tom Van Brunt, son of Mrs. Fred Van Brunt of Bemidji was solemnized at the First Lutheran church on Saturday evening at eight o'clock. Rev. L.E. Evans performed the double ring ceremony.
The church was decorated with baskets of flowers, candelabra and candles on the windows.
The bride who was given in marriage by her father, wore a white floor length gown of brocaded sheer fashioned with a full skirt, fitted bodice and sweetheart neckline complemented by a sheer net fingertip veil. She carried an arm bouquet of white gladioli and sweetheart roses.
Mrs. Harold Schuppel, sister of the bride was matron of honor. She wore a floor length gown of blue eyelet batiste and carried a colonial bouquet of yellow roses. Mrs. M.W. Dreyer was bridesmaid and she wore a floor length gown of pink marquisette and lace. She carried a colonial bouquet of irises.
The groom was attended by Kenneth Jerrow , brother-in-law of the groom who served as best man, and Alarion Dreyer.
The ushers were Morris Bergsven and James Lindseth.
The nuptial music was played by Mrs. J.D. Stout. She also accompanied Mrs. Dudley Fabrick who sang "Because" and "I Love You Truly."
The bride's mother wore a moss green crepe dress with brown
accessories and the groom's mother wore a navy blue crepe dress with black accessories. Both wore gardenia corsages.
A reception was held in the church parlor immediately following the ceremony. Mrs. Arthur Peterson poured an Mrs. Kenneth Jerrow cut the cake.
Mrs. Clarence Bergsven and Mrs. Roy Nugent were in charge of the gift table. Mrs. John Flora was in charge of the guest book.
The couple left immediately following the reception on a honeymoon trip. They will make their home at Bismarck, North Dakota where the groom is employed.
Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schuppel and son and daughter of Hovland, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Edwards and daughter Helen Edwards, Robert Edwards, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Roberts and Tommy Ambuehl of McIntosh, Mr. and Mrs. Corwin Van Brunt and Mr. and Mrs. Willard Van Brunt of Truman, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Robinson and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Nugent of Puposky, and Mr. and Mrs. John Flora of Cass Lake. spaghetti evening gowns
