I wore this beautiful dress twice, once for photos immediately after my October wedding and the next day at our reception.
Specifications:
• Dress is made of chiffon with a polyester lining. Gorgeous embroidery on bodice. Sleeves and mesh on bodice were added.
• I am 5'7.5” and the dress just skimmed the ground - would be perfect length for someone 5'8" or 5'9". Easily taken up.
• I usually wear size 20/22/24W tops and 26/28W bottoms. This dress was a perfect fit at my waist and flowed perfectly off my hips, making my wide hips look like part of a fuller dress. It completely masked my tummy.
• There is room to let out the dress just a bit in the skirt, and would easily be taken in. Sleeves can very simply be altered to your choosing.
Background on the dress / Alterations made:
Dress originally came with a completely sheer four-way stretch mesh sleeveless top above the detailed bodice. As I am LDS, I made the gown "modest" to fit our religious standards at the ceremony.
Temple fill included building the lining above the bodice to cover garments, and adding the sheer sleeves to the elbow. The sheer mesh was completely replaced to ensure a perfect match, and the embroidery and details were built up onto the added lining. Little white buttons were added above the zipper in back for a sweet detail. items looks sexy to wear with long length
Alterations were done by D'Antii in Salt Lake City and she did an extraordinary job.
Alterations / mending needed:
There are a couple of small mends that need to be made where the skirt meets the bodice due to stepping on the skirt a couple times during our first dance. These are not noticeable to the eye. I will not have these done before shipping as you may wish to alter the dress further.
My cost to wear for four hours:
My total for the dress, alterations, and fabric was $1,005.
Please allow an extra 1-2 weeks to have dress dry-cleaned before picking it up or me shipping it to you.
